Wastren-Energx Mission Support, LLC (WEMS) has selected KEIBON Technologies to assist with transition efforts at the US Department of Energy Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon, Ohio. KEIBON will be providing Project Management support for the Computer and Telecommunications infrastructure.
WEMS performs facility support services for the 3,778-acre DOE Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (GDP) in Piketon, OH. The Portsmouth GDP was built in the early 1950s as part of the nation’s nuclear weapons complex. Enriched uranium was produced there from 1954 until 2001. WEMS provides the following facility management and operations services: site security; comprehensive training services; computer, IT, cyber-security, and telecommunications services; records management; fleet management; preventive and corrective maintenance; roads and grounds maintenance; snow removal; and janitorial services. The Facility Support Services contract has achieved DOE VPP Star Site Status and has twice received the Star of Excellence Award. The contract has additionally assisted the Portsmouth GDP site in achieving the Federal Electronics Challenge (FEC) Bronze Award as well as DOE Sustainability Awards and Honorable Mentions.
